NFL Picks for Sunday October 4th
Sunday October 4th: Cowboys @ Broncos
The Broncos are getting no respect although they are playing great over during the season. At home they are a much better team and always have an edge. The Cowboys come in off a short week and have not looked impressively on offense all year. Dallas has lost in 17 of 24 on the highway against non-conference competition and the Broncos will keep this close and the points will be a great help.
Sunday October 4th: Giants @ Chiefs
The play for this game is over the total. The Giants play their third straight road game and it is easy to lose focus. The defense performed great against Tampa Bay and will be ready to give up a few points this week. More importantly the Chiefs defense will not be able to stop Eli & Co. The result will be plenty of points. New York has gone over the number at an 18-8-1 rate as non-conference favorites. The Chiefs have topped the number in 12 of 17 at home following a double-digit loss. Look for a high scoring game and this final score to go over the total.
Sunday October 4th: Tennessee @ Jacksonville
AFC GAME OF THE MONTH!
One of my favorite spots to back a home team is after an outright win as an underdog on the road. The theory is that the team comes back home with confidence after such a great win on the road. Tennessee is starting to unravel and there is already talk of Young starting at QB if Collins falters again. The Titans are 2-8 as road chalk versus a losing team with revenge and the home team has won and cashed in 12 of the past 19 series meetings. The Jaguars are starting to come together as a team and the Titans drop to 0-4.

Sunday October 4th: Baltimore @ Patriots
The Patriots have not looked impressive this year as they have snuck by the Bills and got beat up by the jets. New England is facing a Baltimore team that is 3-0 and plays the same style of defense that the Jets do is not good news for the Patriots. The Patriots are one of the best at adjusting and Baltimore’s defense has given up some yards. New England is 24-13-2 ATS at home off a straight up and ATS win and 23-12-1 ATS after surrendering 10 points or less. The Ravens are just 7-18-1 on the highway as non-division dogs and Bill Belichick will have his defense ready for Joe Flacco.
Sunday October 4th: Jets @ Saints
The Saints were expected to do well this year but the surprising Jets have also started 3-0 as well. This game will show how the Jets can play on the road with rookie QB Mark Sanchez. The road outside the AFC East has not been their friend. The New York Jets have fallen short in 18 of their last 23 (7-16 ATS) on the road when stepping outside the AFC-East. They have dropped four straight spread decisions as non-conference dogs of more than four. The Saints are 9-1 ATS in the last ten as favorites and get the win and the cover again this week.
*UPSET ALERT*Sunday October 4th: Bengals @ Browns
Anderson will start for the Browns this week and the Bengals should be on upset alert
The Bengals are off the biggest win in a very long time after they came from behind to beat the Steelers at home after a long drought. Now they have to try and get up for a game against the lowly Browns although they have the Ravens on deck in what most likely will be a battle for first place in the North. The Bengals have a bad history of letdown as they are 0-7 ATS after a game with the Steelers. The Browns announced that Anderson will start over Quinn at QB and this will be good news to a Browns clubhouse that was looking to get some good news. The Browns have covered seven of eight versus a division opponent off a straight up division loss. After the loss to Baltimore many were labeling the Browns the worst team in the NFL. They can shake that title with a win here. The home divisional dog is a deadly dog and one that will bite. The Bengals are not a great team as favorites and it is a spot they are not used to. They are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0. The Browns are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game and the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last four games. The upset alert belongs to the Cleveland Browns!

Sunday October 4th: San Diego @ Pittsburgh
The Steelers have lost back to back games and will be happy to be at home for this game against the Chargers. The Chargers may have caught the Steelers at the right time and they owe them for beating them on the way to the Super bowl last year. The Chargers have bounced back to cover eight of their last nine as road dogs with revenge. The Steelers are not the same without star safety Troy Polamalu and Rivers should be able to keep this close.
