Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Last night I nailed the winner in the game between the Redskins and the Patriots and tonight I look to do it again when the Bills take on the Steelers. There are two different storylines heading into tonight’s game. For the Bills it is the no huddle offense that they have had on display this year that seems to be getting better as the preseason goes on. The Bills have always been a decent play as a road underdog and are 7-1 ATS in the last eight as road underdogs. For the Steelers it is the injury to Ben Roethlisberger that has been a hot topic all week. It is

being described as minor and not a big issue by the Steelers front office but it looks as if he will get the start. Mike Tomlin will see how the team looks tonight and choose playing time but look for Charlie Batch to get plenty of reps at the helm. They will also be without Willie Parker as he is scheduled to sit out tonight’s game as well. This is not good news since the Steelers are 4-7 against the spread in their last 11 preseason games as a favorite. The Bills get DE Aaron Maybin to play tonight and it must be noticed that the second and third units in Buffalo have played well in the second half in the preseason. This is huge when you’re looking to cover the spread as most teams would be packing it in but not the Bills as they play tough down the stretch.
BIG NEWS: Here is the big news for this game tonight as far as I am concerned the Steelers will be without Jeff Reed for tonight’s game. Mike Tomlin said kicker Jeff Reed might not be used tonight because he stepped in a hole and slightly injured his leg before the game at Washington last week. That means free-agent Piotr Czech could handle all the kicking duties against the Bills. Asked if it was Reed’s right leg or plant leg, Tomlin said: “I have no idea. I have a lot of stuff on my plate this time of year. I didn’t check which leg.” The last time a team didn’t have a kicker in the preseason they let a wide receiver kick the extra point. If this game comes down to a point or two this FG kicker cannot be trusted. The Bills play better in the second half and get Maybin tonight. The Steelers are dealing with injuries and will not have the starting kicker for tonight. Pittsburgh is 10-15 ATS in third preseason game and is 1-3 and 0-4 ATS since 2005.
This leads me to play Buffalo plus the points tonight.
