This weekend is one of the best weekends in UFC history as UFC 100 will take place in Las Vegas. This event will be an example of how far this sport has come. There is expected to be a million dollars made on the pay-per-view alone and the card will not disappoint. This card boasts two bouts for championship belts and will not disappoint.
I am going to give my predictions on the outcome of the two championship fights:
The odds have Lesnar has a -220 favorite to win this meeting and it’s worth
the drop. Lesnar looks for revenge after losing his debut battle against Mir. In the first battle Lesnar was inexperienced and walked into a submission, but I don’t expect to see that again. Lesnar has learned the ropes so to speak and can overpower Mir and as long as he does not get out of control like in the first match look for a win by Lesnar.
Georges St. Pierre vs Thiago Alves:
In the other championship bout it’s Georges St. Pierre going against Thiago Alves for the welterweight championship. St. Pierre comes out as a -320 favorite in this bout but some say it may be too much. GSP is one of the best of all time and his list of opponents is like a who’s who in the sport which could make for a long night for Alves. GSP has done well against ground pounder’s but Alves is a striker and he has an excellent chance of winning this bout. His leg kicks are some of the hardest in the game today but he has to keep St. Pierre out of his game and stay off the ground. If he can do that he can win and that will be enough for me to take a shot on Thiago Alves.
